Research & sketch
For this project, I decided for a rough sketch on paper. It's always nice to back for more traditional approach if it's possible.
After researching what animals live in Costa Rica and what their environment is like, I start sketching.
The main task at this stage was to establish the general composition and the arrangement of elements that will definitely be in the final illustration, such as the laboratory or the warehouse with equipment, located in the treetops.
Coloring
Drawing animals and their enviroment is great fun, but also a very time-consuming process, especially if we have a lot of elements in the illustration.
This project was going to be animated later, so I had to take that in mind when drawing the individual elements.
